Double Sided Flexible PCB

Double sided flexible circuits are the most common construction used in the flexible printed circuit family. They consist of two conductive layers thus “double sided” and three insulating layers, one between the conductive layers and two outside layers on top and bottom. These circuits have an overall thickness range of 6.4 (.0064”) to 9.8 (.0098”) mils typically.

Single Sided Flexible PCB

Single sided flexible circuits are the most basic of the flexible circuit family. They consist of a “single” conductive layer and two insulating layers. These circuits are the thinnest of the flexible circuit family with an overall thickness range of 3.7 (.0037”) to 5.4 (.0054”) mils typically.

Rigid-Flex PCB

Rigid-Flex PCBs consist of 2-8 conductive layers and the appropriate amount of insulating layers for that construction. Simple and robust, rigid-flex hybrid circuits combine the advantages of rigid circuit boards and flexible circuits, alleviating the need for extra cables in inventory and assembly.
